I keep trying to find the dozen or so lines
That even someone who doesn’t care for poetry
Would fall into and not even realize
They were even reading it until
They had read it through two or three times
Then after gazing long into the middle distance
Would come back around to find
Some shutters lifted, some bonds broken,
Some long-held passions set right.
Even people who can’t say what they are looking for
Catch fire when they reach toward heaven
For the lightning strike that sets them free.
I really like this one!
