The Power of Pausing

This is a time to pause, to hold our collective breath. To wait. To cease. To stay. Put it in Park and turn off the key. Magical things happen when we pause. Time. Goes. By. Let it. This virus continues to spread in the land. Don’t conspire to make its job easier. Do what you can to deny its passage. Will you know for sure the good you’ll do? Probably not, but if we rush around with our usual abandon we know, we know, we know . . . we play right into its hands. A different kind of crisis this, better met by inaction than activity (except of course for masking and the other precautions). These non-pharmaceutical solutions are in our hands. If you can, stay home, maybe tele-commute; and when you have to go out, keep your distance and cover your face. While we anticipate vaccinations will help, we are not there yet. Not quite. So, in the meantime, pause. And Pray.
